This 12-week course meets Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with two Saturday training sessions. Classes are held at the Sugar City Fire Station, located at 110 N. Railroad Avenue, Sugar City, Idaho.

Upon completion of the course, students will participate in a written examination on Friday evening and a practical skills examination on Saturday morning at the Madison Fire Department in Rexburg.

Course Overview

This course provides entry-level firefighters with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to operate safely and effectively in emergency situations. Students will learn fire behavior, firefighting tactics, search and rescue operations, ventilation techniques, ladder operations, water supply, firefighter safety, and emergency medical fundamentals.

Fundamentals of Firefighter Skills 5th edition is required for this course. Used or online textbooks are acceptable or you can purchase HERE.

In the event that I am injured or become ill during any classroom, laboratory, skills, clinical, field, or program-related activity, I understand that I am responsible for seeking medical care and that any resulting medical expenses may be submitted to my personal health insurance provider.

ESNA Course Refund Policy

Students who wish to withdraw from a course may be eligible for a tuition refund according to the following schedule:

• 100% refund if the student officially withdraws no later than 10 days prior to the first class date.
• 50% refund if the student officially withdraws within 10 days of the first class date and no later than the end of the first class day.
• No refund will be issued after 5 pm the day before class starts.

To officially withdraw from a course and be considered for a refund, students must submit a written request by email within the applicable deadlines. Refund requests should be sent to [email protected] with the subject line "Refund Request."

Students who purchase a tuition protection plan or similar third-party protection product will be subject to the terms and conditions of that plan. If a student elects not to purchase a protection plan, the ESNA Course Refund Policy shall apply.

Approved refunds will be issued by check and mailed to the address on file. Refund processing may take up to four (4) weeks, and delivery times may vary depending on postal service schedules.
